Ghost Story:
The house was identified and searched. It had been empty for a number of years, but except for deterioration natural to being so long unoccupied, nothing was found which would account for the sounds of the opening and closing of windows. The records were also searched, but nothing came to light to suggest a possible reason, whether rational or irrational, for the ghostly voice, or the other sounds. With regard to the headless lady, to restore confidence among the men the sentry points at the Recruit House were re-sited, so that no box stood near to the spot where she always appeared. This reorganization soon proved to have been unnecessary, however, for a clergyman, having asked permission to spend the night at former No. 3 point, and having passed the whole of his watch reciting prayers for the souls of the faithful departed, she was never seen again.
