Details of Haunted Place :
The Bells of Beaumaris Castle
One of the oldest Castles in Wales, Beaumaris Castle was built by King Edward the First, when he was conquering Wales. Work was begun on the castle in 1295, but that work was never completed. Even so, it is one of the more famous castles in Wales, and is currently designated as a World Heritage Site.
With a history that is over 700 years old, it is no surprise that this castle has its own fair share of ghosts. Many visitors to the castle describe having the feeling that someone is watching them as they walk through its halls. As well, a woman has been seen in the castle. Described wearing the clothes of a nun, she is often seen walking through the castle, especially near the chapel.
In addition, the caretaker of the castle has described feeling someone tapping on his shoulder as he walks outside at night, and sometimes the church bells will ring completely by themselves.
It would appear that Beaumaris Castle still has someone keeping watch, rather than choosing to go into the afterlife. As the years go by, it seems more and more visitors hear the bells, and see the nun, of Beaumaris Castle.
