Details of Haunted Place :
Castle Rising Castle is famously haunted by the Ghost of Queen Isabella. Although now a ruin, this castle has had many sightings of ghosts over the years.
Queen Isabella, nicknamed the 'she-wolf of France' was involved in the horrific murder of her husband, Edward II, in 1327. She spent the last years of her life in tormented trouble (it is said that she was racked by violent dementia), but perhaps she regretted her evil ways and feared when lay ahead after death. She died on August 23, 1358, and was buried in the monastery of the Greyfriars by Newgate in London.
