Details of Haunted Place :
Muncaster Castle has the reputation of being the most haunted castle in the whole of England.
Ghosts in the castle include:
Tom Fool. Thomas Skelton was the 'Fool' or Court Jester of Muncaster Castle. He often sat under a tree near the castle. When a traveler passed by he would speak to them and decide whether or not he liked them. If he didn't like them he would send them on their way in the direction of the nearby marshlands and quicksands where they would meet their peril. Thomas's ghost haunts the castle to this day The Muncaster Boggle or White Lady
The Muncaster Boggle or White Lady haunts the gardens and is often seen on roadways around Muncaster. She is believed to be the ghost of Mary Bragg, a young girl murdered in the early 1800s on the road near the Main Gate of the Castle.
Mother and Child A child is frequently heard crying towards the window end of the Tapestry Room. This is usually accompanied by a lady singing - thought to be comforting a sick child
When the team visited the castle our ghost hunter, Robin Graves, had a weird encounter with Tom Fool - but being a bit of a patter merchant Robin sent Tom off in the direction of the marshes.
